About the Family
Lucky Fortune was started in 1983 by Simon and Lisa Lou, two Chinese entrepreneurs with an
extensive and impressive background in the food and beverage industry. They committed every
ounce of energy to ensure their first Staten Island restaurant's success. Now, with a loyal
customer base that frequent the establishment, Lisa and Simon seek to expand and further
develop the Lucky Fortune concept.
Having started out in the business in China at a very young age with their respective parents,
Lisa and Simon each found their way to Manhattan and further developed their skills alongside
other chefs and restaurant owners and operators. By luck, they met each other at a restaurant in
Chinatown, NYC where Lisa was a server and Simon was a prep cook. Since then, the duo was
unstoppable. They married and moved to Staten Island to start their own business. Most of the
employees have been with us since the opening, and as such, are an integral part of the Lucky
Fortune family and history.
Today, Lucky Fortune is over 23 years old and continues to grow. With two children, Lisa and
Simon both are extremely proud of their achievements, but hope to fulfill more goals.
